Dr. Morris Nejat named New York Times Super Doctor 2009

Dr. Nejat has been recognized as a 2009 Super Doctor by the New York Times. The New York Times’ annual assessment of regional doctors has selected Dr. Morris Nejat, M.D. as one of a select few to hold the honor of being recognized as a Super Doctor. The selection process screened tens of thousands of doctors in New York and asked other doctors and medical professionals to nominate doctors based on the answer to the question:

“If you needed medical care, which doctor would you chose?”

Each candidate is evaluated thoroughly for peer recognition and professional achievement. Some of the indicators include:

  • Years of practice
  • Honors and awards
  • Training
  • Professional activities
  • Scholarly activities
  • Hospital Appointments
  • Academic leadership
  • Board certifications

The final selection process involves giving points from balloy surverys, candidate research and panel review to determine a final score. Then each candidate’s standing is checked with the New York State Board of Medical Examiners. The candidates with the highest number of points are finally listed as  New York Super Doctors.
